About Éclat Magazine
Éclat Magazine is an independent beauty publication, published in French and English since January 2026. We cover skincare, makeup, fragrance and wellness with one obsession: saying what a product actually does, who it suits, and when a cheaper alternative does the same job.
Who's behind it
Éclat is written by Caro, who tests the products she writes about. No ghostwriting, no bought content: every article starts from real use or a question a reader asked. Two contributors, Caroline and Elina, regularly share their personal selections — what they actually use day to day, not what someone asked them to feature.
Our editorial line
An Éclat article isn't trying to sell you something, it's trying to help you decide. In practice that means three things. We say when a product isn't worth its price. Several of our comparisons conclude that the fifteen-euro pharmacy option does the job as well as a ninety-euro one. We never recommend a substitute. If the exact product we're discussing isn't available, the mention stays as plain text rather than pointing you somewhere else. We don't rewrite our verdicts. A published article keeps its tone and its conclusions; if it's corrected, it's because a fact changed, not because a partner asked.
How we verify
Before publishing, every product we link to must be genuinely available and properly rated — at least 3.5 stars in its market. A product below that threshold doesn't get linked. After publishing, our entire catalogue is re-checked automatically every day, across both the French and US markets. When a product goes out of stock or loses its rating, the link is detected and redirected within twenty-four hours. We'd rather send you to an honest search than to a dead listing.
How the site is funded
Éclat is funded by affiliate commissions. Some links to partner retailers earn us a commission if you buy, at no extra cost to you. That revenue doesn't decide what we recommend. We choose the products first and add the links afterwards — and when a product we consider better isn't affiliated anywhere, we still write about it. We don't publish sponsored articles and we don't accept payment for a favourable review.
